Chickpea salad







Ingredients

1 can (15.5 oz.)                                              Chickpeas
2                                                                        Stacks of celery
2                                                                        Radishes, sliced
A handful                                                        Carrots, julienned
1                                                                        Scallion
2 tablespoons                                                 Olives
1/4 cup                                                             Diced tomatoes (fresh or from a can)
1/4 cup                                                             Feta cheese
1 tablespoon                                                  Lemon and olive oil dressing
About 1 1/2 cup                                             Lettuce per serving

Directions 

Mix all the ingredients except the lettuce.  Add the lettuce when ready to eat.

Scott's only salad dressing

Ingredients 

2 cloves                                                         Garlic
1/2 cup                                                          Olive oil
1 tablespoon                                                Greek seasoning 
4 squirts                                                       Mustard
Zest and juice of 1 lemon.

Directions 

Mix all the ingredients in a little jar and shake just before pouring in your salad.

I ate it with a toasted cheese sandwich and don't worry I  shared some lettuce with my dog.  He is not picky like his daddy.  Bon appetit!

Grandma's bread, made with milk

I'm making bread this morning.  Yesterday I asked aunt Jacinthe to give me Grandma's recipe and she took a picture of it.  I love to see grandma's hand writing and the way it is redacted.  I wonder if she wrote down her mom's instructions.  It doesn"t seem to be  from a book.  I'll have to ask around. I found yeast in the pantry with a 2017 expiration date.  I thought I would steep it in water with sugar and see if it still good or not.  After 10 minutes I was not sure so I thought I would take a picture and asked my aunt if she thinks it's ok.  By the time I got my phone I could see that it was good.  Lesson learned: don't toss your yeast before trying it out.
