Orange pork chop

Those are boneless and baked but they are equally good bone-in and grilled.  The secret is in the marinate and only one hour required.  Tender, tasty and good for you, with no sugar added.

Orange pork chop

Ingredients

1/2 cup                                                                Orange juice
2 tablespoons                                                    Mustard
1 tablespoon                                                      Turmeric
1 tablespoon                                                      Worcestershire
1 tablespoon                                                    Soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon                                                      Red pepper flakes
1 clove                                                                  Grated garlic
1 tablespoon                                                      Fresh, grated ginger
Fresh grated black pepper to taste.

Directions

Place the chops in a large but shallow container with a lid.  Add all the other ingredients and mix to combine.  Cover and let marinate for an hour, flipping once.

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Bake cover for one hour.

Serve it with your favorite veggies and side dish.  I had it with asparagus and parmesan, grilled potatoes.

Eat healthy, be healthy and bon appétit!

Grandma's bread, made with milk

I'm making bread this morning.  Yesterday I asked aunt Jacinthe to give me Grandma's recipe and she took a picture of it.  I love to see grandma's hand writing and the way it is redacted.  I wonder if she wrote down her mom's instructions.  It doesn"t seem to be  from a book.  I'll have to ask around. I found yeast in the pantry with a 2017 expiration date.  I thought I would steep it in water with sugar and see if it still good or not.  After 10 minutes I was not sure so I thought I would take a picture and asked my aunt if she thinks it's ok.  By the time I got my phone I could see that it was good.  Lesson learned: don't toss your yeast before trying it out.
