Bloody Claudie

The best sandwich companion.

Bloody Claudie

1                                                                      Beer
1 slice                                                             Lemon
1/4 cup or so                                                 V-8
1/2 teaspoon or so                                       Celery salt
A few grind of black pepper

Directions

Cut a slit in the lemon slice, wet the glass edge with it.  Sprinkle celery salt and black pepper on a small plate, dredge the glass rim  in it.   Put the lemon slice in the glass, pour the beer and top off with the V-8.

0ne day I will shake the wrong one 😆

I'm not sure it is original enough to blog about this recipe but I think I'm being funny, naming a drink after myself. Hey it rhymes, it gives a serving of veggies and it is my favorite sandwich pairing.

Cheer!

Let me know if you try it.

1/12/23 update:

It goes well with a quiche too, click below for my crustless one :

Grandma's bread, made with milk

I'm making bread this morning.  Yesterday I asked aunt Jacinthe to give me Grandma's recipe and she took a picture of it.  I love to see grandma's hand writing and the way it is redacted.  I wonder if she wrote down her mom's instructions.  It doesn"t seem to be  from a book.  I'll have to ask around. I found yeast in the pantry with a 2017 expiration date.  I thought I would steep it in water with sugar and see if it still good or not.  After 10 minutes I was not sure so I thought I would take a picture and asked my aunt if she thinks it's ok.  By the time I got my phone I could see that it was good.  Lesson learned: don't toss your yeast before trying it out.
