No bake Valentine treat

Ingredients

1 cup                                                                    Coconut
1 cup                                                                    Dates, diced
1 cup                                                                    Red cherries, diced
1 cup                                                                    Peanut butter
6 onces                                                                Dark chocolate
About 1/8 cup                                                    Milk of choice

Directions

Mix the first fourth ingredients.  Put in the fridge and submerge your cookie cutter in water.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave with the milk, 22 seconds at a time, stir and repeat until melted and combined.  Add more milk if you want a thinner coat.  Don't let the chocolate cooked.

Take the peanut butter mixture out of the fridge.  Wet your hands, take about 1 tablespoon of the mixture,  shape a ball and stuffed in the cookie cutter on a parchment or wax paper. Repeat until all mixture is used.

Dip each heart in chocolate on one side.  Put in the fridge 10 minutes and repeat on the other side if you want to.  I doubled dip some and some  not.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Grandma's bread, made with milk

I'm making bread this morning.  Yesterday I asked aunt Jacinthe to give me Grandma's recipe and she took a picture of it.  I love to see grandma's hand writing and the way it is redacted.  I wonder if she wrote down her mom's instructions.  It doesn"t seem to be  from a book.  I'll have to ask around. I found yeast in the pantry with a 2017 expiration date.  I thought I would steep it in water with sugar and see if it still good or not.  After 10 minutes I was not sure so I thought I would take a picture and asked my aunt if she thinks it's ok.  By the time I got my phone I could see that it was good.  Lesson learned: don't toss your yeast before trying it out.
