Farro with roasted veggies and garbanzo beans

FARRO BOWL WITH ROASTED VEGGIES AND GARBANZO BEANS.

Ingredients

2 cups                                 Vegetable stock
1 cup                                   Farro (or rice)
1 can                                   Garbanzo beans
A sheet pan full of veggies of choice (fresh or frozen) ( I used fresh carrots and turnip and frozen broccoli).
Oil spray
Salt, pepper and curry powder.
1/4 cup                                 Soy sauce
1 teaspoon                           Freshly grated ginger
5 squirts                               Mustard
1                                             Grated garlic clove
Pepper to taste
Sesame seeds

Directions

Bring 2 cups of stock to a boil.  Rinse and add the farro.  Cook according to package instructions.

Place one grate on the higher slit in the oven and one on the lower.

Turn on the oven to 425°F.

Rinse and dry the garbanzo beans in a kitchen towel. Place them on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.  Cut in medium pieces some carrots, turnip, broccoli (frozen works too), onion or veggies of choice.

Spray with oil, season with salt, pepper and curry powder or seasoning of choice.

Cook 10 minutes on lower grate and 10 more minutes on the higher one.

Mix 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, 1 grated garlic clove and 5 squits of mustard in a little jar.

Divide in 3 servings.  Pour 1 tablespoon of the sauce over each plate or container and sprinkle some Sesame seeds. It's good hot, warm or cold

Grandma's bread, made with milk

I'm making bread this morning.  Yesterday I asked aunt Jacinthe to give me Grandma's recipe and she took a picture of it.  I love to see grandma's hand writing and the way it is redacted.  I wonder if she wrote down her mom's instructions.  It doesn"t seem to be  from a book.  I'll have to ask around. I found yeast in the pantry with a 2017 expiration date.  I thought I would steep it in water with sugar and see if it still good or not.  After 10 minutes I was not sure so I thought I would take a picture and asked my aunt if she thinks it's ok.  By the time I got my phone I could see that it was good.  Lesson learned: don't toss your yeast before trying it out.
