Carrot and sweet potatoe spread

I am in a vegan period nowadays,  in reaction of the meat market chain in danger of breaking.  I always tried not to be dependent of anything and I am proud to be able to manage with whatever life throws at me.   This spread is inspired by "pâté de foie gras" which means "fat liver paste" which is not appealing to most Americans.   I know Scott prefers the sound of carrot and sweet potatoe spread.  I spice it up with curry powder and it's delicious.  Give it a try. Lentil linguine

I was in the process of sprouting more lentils but decided to cook them and make a pasta sauce with them.  Here's how they look on day 2 : They take no time to cook, about 5 minutes.  I boiled them in salted water with a bay leave.  Meanwhile I made a marinara sauce and add them.  Usually I don't sprout the lentils for this recipe.  Lentil linguine 1 cup                                                         Lentils 1                                                                 Bay leave 1 tablespoon                                    ...

Sprouted lentil salad

Lentil is one of the food that my husband discovered because of me.  They are good for you, they have proteins, fibers, complexe carbs, iron and more.  And they have few calories.  Sprouted ones are easier to digest and you don't have to cook them.  (scroll down to see how to do it, it's easy).  I like them in sandwiches, on top of Chinese dishes and just for munching.  They are hearty, fresh, crunchy, peppery,  juicy; I love them.  Today I'm making a salad to bring on a hike. Sometimes Scott is annoyingly indecisive.  We decided to cook Chinese tonight, with ground beef.  He said he doesn't want pasta like we usually do, just meat and veggies.  I said o.k I'm making myself rice (which he doesn't like).  Five minutes later he decided he wanted gluten free pasta.  So here it is Chinese fried rice and/or pasta, I call it, Chinese two ways. Pizza

Today's masterpiece. You cannot tell but we put julienned carrots on it, we buy them for our dog.  So I guess that one is à la Immer :)  Pizza is a very good way to cook à la everyone.   This recipe makes 3 pies, so we make 1 all dressed (that's a French Canadian thing), Scott tops his with whatever mood is in that day and 1 cheese or half and half. Salmon cakes

Scott and I don't have the same schedule so we rarely eat together.  There is plenty of food for him in the fridge so I'm cooking for myself tonight.  I love salmon, with this recipe I will have 1 dinner and 4 lunches.
